A Sydney based couple contacted me early in the year to enquire about my services for their upcoming June wedding at the private property of Pemberton Finger Limes. They wanted a relaxed day time wedding surrounded by friends and family with good food and wine; “a lunch that lingers”. The design brief was forest chic. Love a good brief name!
I provided the Full Service package for this wedding; full co-ordination (in the lead up and on the day) and styling of all elements. Though the time frame was a little shorter than most, due to the wedding being held in winter, we managed to book a great team of local and out of town vendors. Emailing and meetings over the phone ensured the clients were kept up to date and involved in plans being made.
The intimate ceremony was held in a naturally clear area in the nearby forest. Pre-lunch drinks followed which then led into a seated banquet style lunch in the marquee. With the wedding being held in winter in Pemberton it was important to have a beautifully set out and comfortable marquee with flooring. Furniture was bought in and festoon lighting was strung to set the mood and encourage the guests to “linger” into the evening. It worked! In the evening fire pits on the lawn were lit, the pizza oven was cranked up, as was the music. A bus ferried happy guests home at the end of the night.
I was back the next day to pack down, meet the vendors and see the new husband and wife. It was decided; winter weddings rock!!!
